Dr. M.S.Shivakiran

Dr. Shivakiran has decade long experience of research, innovation, technology development, entrepreneurship and intellectual property.

He earlier worked as Founder CEO of Vignan Technology Business Incubator; Associate Dean, R&D, Vignan’s University and Scientist, Vignan’s University. During his research tenure, he has 07 patents, 12 publications, 05 technologies and led 03 research projects funded from different agencies. He is also the recipient of DRDO Technology Group Awards for his contribution towards developing new technologies in Genetic Engineering. He has specialization in developing low-cost diagnostic tools for Defence Applications and Vaccine molecules against biological weapon agents. He has also served as a research consultant to biotechnology companies. He has an immense passion for entrepreneurship and technology development especially in the areas of agriculture, healthcare and rural development and mentored several student projects in these domains.

He obtained his Masters in Lifesciences from Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Puttaparthi; Doctorate in Biotechnology from Defence Food Research Laboratory, DRDO, Mysore and DRDO post-doctoral fellowship, DRDO-BU Centre for Lifesciences, Coimbatore.
